Proposal Information

Description:

State Data Center Internship Position: This position involves working as a part of a team that uses Census Bureau and Bureau of Labor Statistics datasets to analyze and report on demographics, income, and labor force topics for New York State. This position would entail assisting with a special project such as developing a methodology and framework to link household records over time using Current Population Survey microdata, writing SAS code to create new reports or re-coding existing reports to rely on the Census Bureau Application Programming Interface (API), assisting with developing a migration study of movers coming into and leaving New York State using American Community Survey data, or assisting with GIS tasks such as developing an interactive mapping tool. This internship provides hands-on experience in data analysis, statistical programming, or geographic information systems, with the expectation of contributing to meaningful research and reports.

strong attention to detail & analytics

Excellent written & verbal comm. skills

ArcGIS or other GIS software familiarity
