Description:
The Department of Environmental Conservation's Office of Environmental Justice (OEJ) works to address environmental issues and concerns that affect primarily low income and minority communities through grant opportunities, implementation of environmental laws and regulations, consultation, guidance, and enhancing public participation.
Students will be working with a dynamic project team, helping to make positive impacts in Environmental Justice and Disadvantaged Communities around the State.
TBD: Telecommuting option up to 50%. M-Th or M-F schedule in person in Albany, NY.
Perform analytic, research, administrative, and other functions necessary to support the implementation of grants and regulatory consultation located in and affecting Environmental Justice communities, including but not limited to:
* Assist with the creation of education and outreach materials, documents, and presentations to disseminate information to internal and external stakeholders
* Support program by assisting project managers in preparing reports, completing research, memos, data tables, reviewing permit applications, and mapping
* File tracking and organization for OEJ Grants and Permits programs
* Develop articles/perform research/compile information for OEJ newsletter
* Organize OEJ archives
* Assist with data collection and reporting
