Description:
The New York State Council on Children and Families (CCF) is a small executive state agency that serves a unique role in state government. As a neutral agency, CCF facilitates the collaboration and alignment among the state's health, education, and human services systems. As a convener, innovator, and change agent among these state child-serving agencies, CCF addresses cross-systems issues informed by data and research to improve outcomes for all of New York's children and families.
The data and research student assistant will assist with data analysis, including but not limited to implementing new data templates for the Kids' Well-being Indicators Clearinghouse (KWIC) website (www.nyskwic.org) and county data book. The student assistant will support the process of entering and updating data, collect, aggregate, and analyze information to improve quality of data presentation, enhance website functionality, and ensure data accuracy. The student assistant will provide feedback and recommendations to the CCF Data and Research team that improves the database quality and the website's performance and user experience. The student will review and analyze intake data and assist in developing content for the county data book, ensuring it reflects accurate, up-to-date information. The data and research student assistant will maintain the database system, ensuring trends and data points are consistently updated. The student assistant will support the development of NYS KWIC indicators and community assets. Additional projects include conducting literature reviews on poverty measurement, poverty policy, student attendance and performance. Pyramid Model Implementation Data System (PIDS) data entry and analysis of training evaluations.
