Description:
The Healthcare Provider Discipline Unit (HPDU) as a part of the Board's Office of General Counsel, is responsible for reviewing and investigating medical provider compliance with Workers' Compensation Law requirements, and removing providers from authorization when an investigation has revealed noncompliance. The HPDU legal intern will assist with:
-Investigating allegations of medical provider wrongdoing;
-Drafting summaries of investigation findings and correspondence to medical providers;
-Preparing for depositions of medical providers under investigation;
-Tracking ongoing investigations;
-Corresponding with the Medical Director's Office and Workers' Compensation Inspector General, as necessary; and
-Other legal tasks as needed.
