Proposal Information

Description:

The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles' Communications Office is recruiting a student intern (unpaid) for the fall term as part of the NYS Student Intern Program. We welcome applications from students attending undergraduate and graduate programs at colleges and universities throughout New York State. Interns will work in person at the DMV's headquarters in downtown Albany.

Internships provide a great opportunity for students studying communications, journalism, design or another creative field to gain valuable real-world experience in a fast-paced, public-facing state agency. DMV is considered the front door of state government.

Student interns will:
* Interact with government leaders and policymakers
* Perform rewarding and meaningful work
* Receive academic credit, if applicable

In addition, as a member of the communications office, interns will help:
* Write campaign and promotional copy for social media, the web and press releases
* Research and draft remarks and video scripts
* Respond to media inquiries and monitor news related to the DMV and NYS transportation
* Design graphics for event giveaways and other promotional materials
