Description:
The objective of this internship is to improve the resolution of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Waterbody Inventory/Priority Waterbodies List (WIPWL) GIS layer by comparing it to the recently improved National Hydrography Data (NHD) plus layer and correcting any discrepancies. This work will allow DEC to represent NYS surface waters more accurately and relate them to water quality assessments.
The intern will have a workstation equipped with a computer and necessary software to complete the internship tasks. The jobsite is 625 Broadway in Albany for 20 hours a week from Monday-Friday.
