Description:

Title: Water Quality Intern

Position Details: Unpaid seasonal internship. Work week will be weekdays (Monday - Friday) approximately 10-19 hours per week. This position may also serve to satisfy an academic student internship requirement.

Description:
The Albany Water Quality Unit seeks a water quality intern to assist in water quality file and data organization. NYS OPRHP Water Quality Unit in Albany, NY is hiring an intern for 2025. The hours are flexible. This is a perfect opportunity for anyone interested in gaining experience in data management and water quality monitoring. This position may also serve to satisfy an academic student internship requirement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Aquatic Ecosystem Biologist the intern will provide assistance with:
- scanning historical water quality documents
- electronic filing organization
- entering historical water quality data into databases
- working with Water Quality Unit staff to analyze data

Skills:
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Access)
- One to two years of college experience in biology, ecology, natural resources, data management, or related field
- Strong Analytical Skills
