Description:

The Data Science & Analytics Intern will work in the Office of Energy System Planning & Performance (ESPP) and may perform the following duties:

· Collect data from various sources including databases and the Department's Document and Matter Management application, where applicable.
· Clean data to ensure accuracy and consistency, remove duplicates, handle missing values, and correct errors.
· Organize data into structured formats suitable for analysis.
· Perform initial data analysis to spot trends, patterns, and anomalies using tools like Excel, Python, or R.
· Create charts, graphs, and dashboards using tools like Tableau or Power BI to visualize data findings.
· Assist in ongoing projects by providing data-driven insights that can influence decision-making processes.
· Document methodologies, findings, and processes for future reference or for team knowledge sharing.
· Attend team meetings to understand project goals and contribute insights from data analysis.
· Provide feedback on data processes and suggest improvements or new approaches for data handling and analysis.
· Research current trends in data analytics, particularly those relevant to the energy industry.
· Analyze data flows to identify areas for efficiency improvements.
