Proposal Information

Description:

Finger Lakes Watershed Program Communications Intern will work with Finger Lakes staff to complete the following tasks:

Re-design the content and organization of Finger Lakes Watershed Program's watershed website at: Watersheds - NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation. Tasks would include:
Compiling, analyzing, and presenting website traffic data; developing a scope of work for re-design and/or reorganization of webpages based on the analysis of website traffic data, Finger Lakes Watershed Program staff program management objectives/input;
Delivering web content/design for review by the Finger Lakes Watershed Program. The re-designed webpages would incorporate a watershed-based approach to management, climate change, sustainability/resiliency, overlapping programs/objectives such as funding opportunities and source water protection, and an improved user experience.
Development of Finger Lakes facts sheets, education/outreach material, and other innovative ways to communicate Finger Lakes Watershed Program activities to the public. Tasks would include:
Update/develop fact sheets about the Finger Lakes Watershed Program for posting online and for sharing with stakeholders and public events;
Work with the Finger Lakes Watershed Program GIS/Data Intern towards the development of various StoryMaps.
Minimum Qualifications:

18 college semester credit hours in any combination of the following: engineering, geology, environmental science, natural or physical science, drafting, mathematics, or surveying. Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate would have coursework in a combination of environmental science, communications, public policy, and experience with web content management systems.
