Description:

The intern will work in the Long Island Office's Energy System Planning & Performance Section. Duties would include:

* Support the review of utility compliance with regulatory requirements, including safety standards, service quality, and summer preparation.
* Perform data collection and analysis to support the project/program evaluations, summarize findings and identify the potential improvements for preparing reports.
* Conduct research on advanced technologies, industry trends, and best practices in utility regulation.
* Accompany experienced engineers on inspections of utility facilities and infrastructure to assess compliance with electric safety standards and operational best practices.
* Assist in investigating customer complaints regarding utility services and support efforts to ensure timely and effectively resolution of issues affecting customers.
* Assist in reviewing summer preparation filing by utilities.
