Proposal Information

Description:

OMH Managed Care division is seeking a qualified candidate to fill an internship position. The student may work full time (37.5 hours) in summer. Current work is performed 50% remotely.

Skills Needed:

1. Ability to collect and summarize information from academic literature
2. Ability to assist in research projects
3. Ability to build code in SAS, and SQL; knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word
4. Skills of doing data report visualization using Tableau.
5. Ability to extract, clean and building relational tables by using health care data
6. Ability to communicate in written and spoken English
7. Ability to work in a team environment
8. Knowledge of GIS software
9. Ability to build health care data model to replicate and evaluate the operational process of MH program.

Job Duties:

1. Assist in research projects in the following aspects: conducting literature review and statistical analysis, interpreting results, and developing draft reports.
2. Assist in the data collection and processing of Plans' submissions of reports requested by OMH.
3. Assist in the workflow of data collection, management and uploading into databases of Adult and Children provider universe.
4. Formulate summary templates for management reports.
5. Write SAS codes and create Tableau visualization workbooks of management reports.
6. Run quality assurance tests prior to distribution pertaining to Adult and Children' networks.
7. Assist in other various report production, SAS coding, and data modeling of ad-hoc requests pertaining to MH service utilization and costs.
8. Produce maps in ARC GIS or Tableau.
9. Assist in creating market data and ancillary files necessary to migrate network analyses to the Provider Network Data Systems (PNDS) using SAS, SQL or other statistical software.
10. Assist in analyses and quality assurance processing to ensure data integrity of the network migration to the PNDS project.
