Description:
NYSOFA is a small but mighty agency that is dedicated to helping older New Yorkers remain independent in their homes and communities. Communications interns will join our communication team in advancing the agency's mission: promoting services and supports for older adults and caregivers, combating ageism and social isolation, promoting healthy aging, and more . Interns will be responsible for drafting content for our website and social media, assisting with constituent correspondence, assisting with planning for our annual Older New Yorkers' Day Celebration, and other tasks based on technical experience or area of study (i.e., multimedia) Experience with video production a plus.
We have an experienced Communications team and will design an internship to suit the right candidates.
Typical Hours: Variable, but NYSOFA requires interns to work 15-20 hours per week to receive college credit. We offer an internship stipend of $1600 with a passing grade. NYSOFA also pays for intern parking. Internship positions are a hybrid of remote and in-person work.
Agency Building 2 Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Daily Tasks, type of work to be performed:
o social media videos
o social media posts
o infographics
o press releases and articles for the website
o correspondence
o assisting event planning team
o work with databases and document production
