Description:
This internship is open to current SUNY Albany students. This is a public health-related position within the Suicide Prevention Center of New York (preventsuicideny.org). The intern will complete a project characterizing suicide-related morbidity among youth in New York, including suicidal thoughts, attempts, and deaths. This will include analysis of prevalence, correlates, and risk and protective factors. Particular focus will be placed on high school-age youth. The student will review relevant literature; analyze data from surveys and other sources using SAS and R; create a written report focused on data from the 2021 New York Youth Risk Behavior Survey and present these results within the Center; contribute to other written reports characterizing suicide-related risk among New York adolescents. Students may also assist with other SPCNY activities related to suicide in NYS and program evaluation. The intern is expected to work on site for 20 hours/week and the compensation is $21.92/hr.
