Duties will vary from position to position, based on the assignment, but they all have a common goal - to enhance public safety. Engineering interns may work in one of a variety of program areas under the direct supervision of a NYSDOT Professional Engineer, Senior Landscape Architect, Senior Land Surveyor, or Environmental Specialist. Based on the assignment, interns will perform duties such as GIS, engineering, research, policy and planning, surveying, administration, etc. to achieve the mission of the agency.
