Description:
In order to fulfill its programmatic objectives in the area of GIS, the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation requires assistance to increase the range and accuracy of the geographic databases it compiles and analyzes. This work is appropriate for undergraduate and graduate students from a geography, cartography, anthropology, archeology, and/or land surveying program who have successfully completed an introductory GIS course.
The workload for the intern will consist of GIS map preparation, scanning and digitizing documents, creation of geographic datasets, and collection of data. Work will be based out of the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation's Bureau of Real Property on the 5th floor of 625 Broadway, Albany, NY 12233. The office is generally open M-F 8-4.
