Proposal Information

Description:

Interns will with the direct support and guidance of senior staff assist with a variety of program areas including Brownfield Opportunity Area program (BOA), Downtown Revitalization initiative (DRI), Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) and Geographic Information System Gateway program (GIS):

* Assist staff to show success of programs through outcome reports and using mapping tools to identity communities to target for program outreach, marketing and engagement;
* Help track progress of projects and programs through creating a list of completed statewide projects in all program areas with accomplishment/assessment determination where feasible;
* Work with program and GIS staff to update datapoints and database content on our GIS Gateway system;
* Assist staff with reviewing policy, procedural, or supplemental guidance documents, including materials in the public purview (website, GIS, etc.) and focus areas to publicize on-going initiatives across the OPDCI program portfolio;
* Help craft public outreach materials and keep our website information current;
* Help identify potential trends and patterns in program utilization.
* Assist the Director of Planning and Development and/or the Deputy Secretary of State with research and writing projects;
* Develop relationships with DOS staff, local government officials and other agency personnel, learn about local government/state relations, and come away with a better understanding of State operations.

 

Skills:

Strong research and analytical skills

Excellent writing skills

MS Office experience Excel/Word/PP

ESRI/ArcGIS/Arcmap/ArcGIS experience

Ability to work independently
