Proposal Information

Description:

Intern will become familiar with all NYS Traffic Safety Programs, including but not limited to pedestrian/bicycle safety, motorcycle safety, impaired driving, child passenger safety and occupant protection. Intern will assist with the research and development of educational materials, presentations, resources, and publications related to law-based e-bike and e-scooter safety, child passenger safety, and other related traffic safety topics. Intern may also:
* Accompany highway safety program representatives on grant monitorings and make revisions or recommendations to improve standardized processes
* Conduct on-site grant monitorings to ensure proper use of federal highway safety grant funds
* Research and develop legislative proposals that identify gaps in current traffic safety legislation
* Identify, research, and develop grant proposals for state and/or federal grant opportunities for traffic safety
* Assist with the development of public service announcements
* Conduct traffic safety education at outreach events
