Proposal Information

Description:

* Report to DEC Central Office in Albany, NY.
* Develop maps that display stormwater drainage areas for specific waterbodies.
* Develop metadata for layers for public release.
* Conduct an evaluation of GIS wastewater sewer areas to verify the wastewater service present, coordinating with DEC staff as appropriate to ensure accuracy.
* Create new layers using information available in paper maps, spreadsheets, or other forms of documentation. Develop the metadata and a standard operating procedure for updating.
* Conduct other various GIS tasks, such as spatial analysis and map development, and summary data analysis or data analytics for use by NYSDEC Division of Water staff.
* Conduct oneself in a professional manner that reflects positively on SUNY Albany and the Department.
* Complete a short report (2-4 pages) about their experience that can help guide others in pursuit of a meaningful internship as well as help the Department evaluate its intern program.
