Description:
The NY DEC DLF BISEH's Invasive Species Coordination Section is seeking an intern to assist with a study comparing the plant communities in waterbodies with and without a history of pesticide use and public access. The intern will be responsible for obtaining site access permissions and permits where necessary, organizing and managing point intercept surveys at waterbodies, identification of all plant species collected, preservation of representative samples for each species, data entry and data analysis. Additionally, the intern will assist with other AIS related surveys as they arise. The intern will work with the DEC Aquatic Invasive Species Team to complete these tasks. Daily tasks include field sampling of aquatic plants, plant identification, plant preservation, data entry and analysis. Hours will typically be 20 hours per week Monday through Friday between 730 AM and 430 PM
