Proposal Information

Description:

The ideal candidate would be working towards a degree in human services, social work, psychology, criminal justice, or mental health counseling. The student intern would work under the supervision of our Licensed Master Social Workers; as well as the Supervising Psychologist. Students would be afforded the rare opportunity to work in a corrections setting with the sex offender population. Students would learn to administer actuarial assessment tools, assess the inmate's risk to sexually reoffend, co-facilitate treatment and psychoeducational groups, work as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team, learn about treatment and discharge planning; as well as various other clinical and case management duties. They will also become familiarized with the Criminal Justice System, from courts, to incarceration, and release to the community. They will also develop clinical skills and professionalism while maintaining ethical standards in the field.
