Description:
Basic Function:
To progress diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at ESD, Human Resources is seeking a DEI Intern to assist with recruitment initiatives, agency-wide training/events, and other DEI initiatives. The DEI Intern will coordinate with Human Resources and the DEI Committee.

Work Performed:
* Identify relevant seminars, webinars, or related materials for educating staff in identified areas related to DEI.
* Support recruiting and retaining diverse candidates, e.g. identifying sources for diverse candidates such as HBCU's.
* Assist ESD DEI Committee in advancing initiatives such as affinity groups and agency-wide DEI events.
* Prepare materials for HR and/or DEI Committee program implementation.
* Research best practices and create proposals for DEI initiatives. Document program implementation including procedural manuals.
* Other duties as assigned.
