As the country's only executive-level agency dedicated to the issue of domestic and gender-based violence, OPDV is seeking a legal intern who is passionate about gender-based violence policy and advocacy to improve outcomes for survivors and ways we can collectively strengthen the State's response to the issue and the obstacles survivors face when seeking safety. A legal intern would assist in key projects such as our recent work relating to Abuser Accountability, the Blue Ribbon Commission on Forensic Custody Evaluations, and other ways to prevent the manipulation of systems such courts and law enforcement by abusers. Candidate should have a substantive knowledge of family, criminal, civil and other justice systems and their impact on people experiencing gender-based violence. This is a full-time, summer internship.
