Proposal Information

Description:

Student Intern would perform substantial evidence review of appealed Board Panel decisions. This would entail researching the relevant issues, making a recommendation and drafting a memo in support of that position. If the recommendation is to amend or rescind, an amended decision or a superseding decision would be drafted. Assist in the processing of Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests and appeals. Set up and maintain legal files for provider disciplines; gather and create materials and legal summaries in preparation of suspension, revocation, reinstatement, and reconsideration documents for providers; track and manage cases through completion. Participate in special projects as requested concerning the application of Workers' Compensation Law pertinent to this agency. Student Intern would work in the Office of General Counsel for a minimum of 15 hours per week. The Office of General Counsel is open Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM.
