Description:
Duties will include, but not limited to:
- Assist Region 2 Fisheries, Wildlife, Habitat, Wetlands and Marine Resources staff on various projects.
- Learn about environmental permitting matters.
- Go on field visits.
- Assist in taking measurements, photographs and recording findings.
- Assist with enforcement of New York State Environmental Laws
- Records Management.
- Paper file management (sort/verify and cull/file).
- Electronic document management (scan/name/e-file).
- Records Retention (prepare and package records/create transfer lists/send to retention).
All of our interns will also have the opportunity to attend educational seminars and field trips to key environmental sites around NYC. We work with city, federal and private partners throughout the summer and provide networking opportunities for young environmental professionals. Students can work remotely and will be expected to work in our Long Island City, Queens office at least part time.
