Description:
Division of Employment and Workforce Solutions - Youth & Young Adults Program Development Unit: Primary role of the intern would be to support the projects of Youth & Young Adults Team within Program Development. They will help develop a strategy to support recruitment of out-of-school young adults in NYS Dept of Labor programs, particularly the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Program. The tasks will include participating in training and meetings to learn about youth professionals; and reviewing strategies utilized by other states. The intern will also edit content of the NYSDOL youth web pages. They will participate in team meetings and attend relevant trainings to understand the workforce system on a weekly basis. The intern will develop informational and training materials appropriate for multiple audience types. As needed, they will support short-term projects within other aspects of Program Development.
Preferred qualifications:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Strong oral and written communication skills in English
Ability to work in teams and adjust with evolving projects
Ability to perform on-line research, and discern credible sources
Thoroughness and attention to detail
Knowledge of program, training, or curriculum design and adult education principles
Interest in policy analysis
