Description:
Interact professionally with sworn and non-sworn members at a variety of levels;
Abide by confidentiality agreements provided by Division of State Police
Under direction of a supervisor (Senior Investigator or civilian):
* Become familiar with proprietary and commercially-available tools available at NYSIC;
* Draft new or coordinate updates to existing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents related to the use of those tools
* Create database access/manipulation cheat sheets for staff
* Draft new or coordinate updates to existing SOP documents related to day-to-day NYSIC operations
* Assist NYSIC staff in providing case support relevant to ongoing criminal investigations
* Support Criminal Intelligence Section staff as needed - for example, open source research for ongoing projects.
* Other projects that would give the applicant policy writing experience
* Some data entry may be required.

*Prior to beginning an Internship, the student must pass a background investigation. This process could take up to two (2) months to complete. This background will require the student to be fingerprinted for a non-refundable fee of $88.75.
