Proposal Information

Description:

The Division of Child Care Services(DCCS) is responsible for the regulatory oversight and licensing/registration activities of over 18,000 child care programs in New York State. DCCS is also responsible for the oversight of the local administered Child Care Subsidy Program that assists parents in meeting the cost of child care services. The student assistant will research and analyze current trends in the regulatory requirements for child care in other states, participate in various workgroups and assist in the completion of special projects. The student assistant will identify the best practices in other states that may have potential to be implemented in the child care environment in New York State. The assistant will develop documents of comparisons with other states for use in regulatory revision workgroups, and will also participate in and prepare materials for various workgroups as needed and provide overall support to the DCCS regional office support unit and the senior management team. The hours of operation for the division are from 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday.
