Description:
The student will be able to complete their Professional Practice Experience (PPE) requirements including coursework assignments, workbook assignments, projects, and explore how Health Information Management is practiced in a Correctional Healthcare setting. The student will attend meetings, assist with policy writing and updating, and participate in electronic health information projects.
Desired profile: Must be enrolled in a CAHIIM (Council on the Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management) approved Health InformationManagement Program that leads to a Registered Health Information Technician or Registered Health Information Management Administrator certification. The candidate must be looking to complete a professional practice experience, a practicum, or as required by the college.
Preferred level of education: Current student in CAHIIM accredited Health Information Technician/Administrator program.
