Description:
Looking for a dynamic communications internship in the Adirondacks this summer? Play an active role in educating the public on safe and sustainable recreation through face-to-face tabling (social distancing and face masks), social media campaigns, and development of multimedia storytelling content. Internship will be a split between office time and time spent in the great outdoors. Interns will participate in a one-day Leave No Trace (LNT) Awareness Workshop and receive continued mentorship from LNT Master Educators to gain valuable knowledge in sustainable recreation, which will pave the way for success in the following tasks;
* Tabling:
o Communicate with the public at recreation information stations (social distancing and face masks worn)
* Social Media:
o Curate social media posts
o Assist with Live streams
o Organize photos and assets for social media usage
* Storytelling:
o Write outdoor-focused articles, recreation highlights, and educational tips for weekly email bulletin and potential video shoots
* Multimedia Production:
o Scout locations and plan shot lists
o Act as production assistant during video shoots
o Assist with organizing assets post-production
o Act as second camera as needed on photo and video shoots
Supervision: Interns will report to two Public Outreach Specialists who are both avid outdoor recreators, Leave No Trace Master Educators, and have many years of experience with outreach and education campaigns.

Strong creative writing ability
Highly organized
Experience with social media
Comfortable speaking to the public
Experience navigating nature trails
