Proposal Information

Description:

**For consideration, please include a cover letter stating your interest in interning for the New York State Office for New Americans (ONA)**
Seeking an intern with: *prior experience advocating for the immigrant community at the grass roots level; *interest in government with a focus on its nexus with community-based organizations; *interest in international relations.

The ONA intern will: Develop immigration briefs on pressing immigration topics; Extract New York State immigration statistics and findings from new publications/reports from the following: Migration Policy Institute, Pew Research Center, Center for Migration Studies, American Immigration Council, AS/COA and more; Conduct research on the new American population in the different regions in New York State using the most recent U.S. Census data and help draft regional fact sheets;

Other tasks assigned may include administrative assistance such as editing documents and data entry.
We are seeking one intern for 10-19 hours a week for a period of three months. Office hours are Monday - Friday, from 10am - 5pm, but intern will be telecommuting; no in-person work is required. *
