Proposal Information

Description:

Looking for intelligent, quick-thinking and poised individuals to assist us in Division of Planning, Development & Community Infrastructure (OPD&CI) tasks. The Consistency Unit receives over 1,000 applications a year for a coastal consistency determination; while many are small projects, such as placement/replacement of a dock or bulkhead, some projects can be quite large and complex in scope.

Duties include: review projects for which DOS has issued conditional concurrences, objections, and modifications. Summarize findings and identify potential trends and patterns; and conduct basic office functions as needed, such as data entry, file management, and customer service. You may also assist the Director of Planning and Development and/or the Deputy Secretary of State with research and writing projects.

You will develop relationships with DOS staff, local government officials and other agency personnel, learn about local government/state relations, and come away with a better understanding of State operations.
