Description:
Looking for intelligent, quick-thinking and poised individuals to assist us in Division of Planning, Development & Community Infrastructure (OPD&CI) tasks. The Division is in need of someone to support BOA program staff in their mission to work in partnership with local municipalities and organizations to develop and realize a community vision for redevelopment and community revitalization. This position will also assist staff with projects and activities related to the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act ensuring that the State meets its climate targets.
Duties include: research and develop case studies for BOA-funded projects; develop project profiles of BOA community identified projects; research and compile an e-newsletter to disseminate funding opportunities, news articles and policy updates related to redevelopment of brownfields to BOA stakeholders; compile a database of strategic sites (key developable sites identified in BOA plans); provide assistance, as needed, to BOA program staff to review community plans and other BOA grantee submissions; draft policy, procedural, or supplemental guidance documents; and conduct basic office functions as needed, such as data entry, file management, and customer service. You may also assist the Director of Planning and Development and/or the Deputy Secretary of State with research and writing projects.
You will develop relationships with DOS staff, local government officials and other agency personnel, learn about local government/state relations, and come away with a better understanding of State operations, the complexity of community engagement, remediation, and development of brownfields.
