Description:
The Student Assistant will be assigned to the Training and Outreach unit within the NYS Office of Victim Services and will conduct a variety of activities in support of OVS. OVS' Training and Outreach Unit plays an integral role in the agency's interactions with funded Victim Assistance Programs that provide direct services to victims of crime. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Draft, edit, and mange campaigns for the OVS Training Listserv.
- Research and report on email open rates and make recommendations for improvement.
- Oversee VAP Connect (online community forum) engagement; post in discussion threads, drive traffic to appropriate topics and enhance quality of member participation in community.
- Collect, catalog, and report on training survey evaluation results; research trends in subject matter and make recommendations for improvement.
- Research and solicit potential training parters and vendors for hire.
- Perform data entry and database management tasks to ensure accuracy of various victim service resources.
Hours of operation are typically 9 AM - 5 PM but OVS can be flexible with start and finish times.
