Description:

Basic Function: The Economic Development Intern plays an important role in ESD's Mid-Hudson Regional Office in contributing to the mission of Empire State Development. The intern will work closely with the Deputy Director and Project Management team on research and analysis that informs the regional economic development strategy.

Work Performed:
* Conduct research to inform economic development strategy of the ESD Mid-Hudson Office and the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council
* Collect, clean and analyze data using MS Excel
* Draft reports based on research and analysis
* Craft and support communications with key stakeholders
* Utilize mapping software (ie: ArcGIS)
* Craft PowerPoint slide decks for presentations and reports
* Support review of projects for consideration for incentives

Minimum Requirements:
Education level required (education required for this position): Must be in progress for Bachelor's or Master's Degree

Knowledge Required:
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
* Strong knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
* Preferred knowledge and experience with ArcGIS or similar mapping software
