Description:
The student intern will assist staff of the Security Administration team providing support for various IT Security related duties.
The student intern will be exposed to and work with current projects that may include vulnerability remediation, multi factor authentication, and process documentation. Other duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Review and respond security alerts and events
- Build firewall test policies
- Compile documentation and procedures
- Answer phones, review tickets, requests, tasks using ServiceNow
- Assist in troubleshooting customer issues
- Review vulnerability reports, research current vulnerabilities and assist with remediation
- Create new phishing campaign and help spread awareness throughout the organization
- Inventory IT assets
- Assist with multi factor authentication account lockouts and troubleshooting
Minimum Qualifications:
Student interns must be full-time, college students enrolled in a graduate degree program or entering their junior or senior undergraduate year in a specific field such as engineering, mathematics, computer science, information systems, communications or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of multi factor authentication
- Knowledge of vulnerability scanning
- Knowledge of endpoint security products
- Knowledge of firewall administration
- Major in computer science, MIS, or other related fields
- 16 hours in computer/information systems
Experience using ServiceDesk system, Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
The Department is seeking a student intern to work approximately 37.5 hours per week during the summer. Student Interns can work 15-22.5 hours per week while school is in session. Working hours are flexible in order to accommodate a student's class schedule; however, they must be during the System's normal business hours.
