Description:
The student intern will be exposed to and work with current projects related to customer support and technical administration that may include producing technical documentation of processes and procedures. Under the supervision of staff, additional duties may include:assist the staff in the Customer Support Unit with incident resolution, change requests, hardware replacements, and other various duties the unit is responsible for.
The Student Intern will work with current projects related to customer support and technical administration that may include producing technical documentation of processes and procedures. Under the supervision of staff, additional duties may include:
* Accept and log incoming Help Desk calls and provide assistance where possible
* Learn to diagnose, resolve and escalate problems as needed
* Provide assistance to users with password changes
* Assist with providing hardware setup and deployment of computer equipment, thin clients, laptops, monitors, printers, etc.
* Help prepare for scheduled events such as board meetings, conferences and presentations
Minimum Qualifications:
Student interns must be full-time college students enrolled in a graduate degree program or entering their junior or senior
undergraduate year in a specific field such as engineering, mathematics, computer science, information systems, communications
or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Major in computer science, MIS, or other related fields.
-16 hours in computer/information systems
-Experience using Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel and Word
-GPA of 3.0 or higher
-Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
-Excellent communication skills
-Excellent interpersonal skills
The Department is seeking a student intern to work approximately 37.5 hours per week during the summer. Student Interns can work 15-22.5 hours per week while school is in session. Working hours are flexible in order to accommodate a student's class schedule; however, they must be during the System's normal business hours.
