Position Summary
Assist staff with such things as actuarial work and data editing tasks related to the actuarial valuation and/or review of actuarial assumptions. Participate in actuarial calculations for individual member's DRO's or special options and such other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Student interns must be full-time, college students enrolled in a graduate degree program or entering their junior or senior undergraduate year in a specific field such as engineering, business, finance, mathematics, actuarial science, accounting, economics, or a related field. Mathematics major, actuarial science, or a related major.
Technical mathematical and computer science background and skill set, with goal of becoming an actuary.
Good computer skills.

-Major in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics or computer science
-Passed at least 1 actuarial exam
-Familiar with R statistical software
-Experience using Microsoft Office products including Access, Excel and Word
-GPA of 3.0 or higher
Hours
The Actuary Department is seeking a student intern to work approximately 37.5 hours per week during the summer. Student Interns can work 15-22.5 hours per week while school is in session. Working hours are flexible in order to accommodate a student's class schedule; however, they must be during the System's normal business hours.
