Proposal Information

Description:

The Office of Electric, Gas & Water consists of sections that perform technical work related to electric rates and tariffs; electric distribution systems; bulk electric systems; electric, gas and water policy coordination; gas rates and tariffs; gas policy and supply; water company regulation; and electric, gas and steam safety. The intern would primarily work in the Pipeline Safety and Reliability Section assisting in conducting pipeline safety audits and would work under the direct supervision of a senior investigator.
Pipeline safety audits are conducted to ensure compliance with pipeline safety statues and regulations by regulated gas and hazardous liquid corporations. Audits will be conducted, either, by reviewing documents, plans and/or procedures in office or by conducting interviews with gas and hazardous liquid corporations' operating personnel. Interviews are conducted in person or by remote conferencing services. This position will review applicable documents, plans, and procedures for compliance with Section 114(b) of the Protecting Our Infrastructure of Pipelines and Enhancing Safety (PIPES) Act of 2020.
