Description:

Internship Description:

The Governor's Special Counsel team seeks rising second-year or third-year law students to assist with a wide range of legal issues. The interns' responsibilities may include: researching legal issues on matters before the Governor's office and executive agencies; assisting with the drafting of and review of policies and procedures; preparing for and attending meetings with executive staff; and drafting legal memoranda and correspondence. Interns will work directly under the supervision of the Special Counsel team, and will be exposed to a variety of matters arising across the state executive branch. Interns must have strong research, writing, and communication skills.

General Internship Facts:
* The interns will work out of the Executive Chamber's NYC Office, located at 633 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10017.
* No compensation (however travel expensed to the Albany chamber will be compensated, should occasional travel be necessary)
* Position is contingent on a complete and cleared background investigation.
* Course credit is available.
* Interns should be prepared to commit one full work day per week (or the equivalent) for term-time internships and full-time working hours for summer internships, with specific hours to be set by the corresponding supervisors.
