Description:
Job Duties
a. Special Projects- Students may be required to assist with special projects that will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of a bureau or unit. For example, projects may include summarizing research on evidence-based practices, assisting with revising training curriculums and approaches, or assisting a bureau in liaison activities with the facilities, community services or other agencies.
i. Students will assist the Business Systems Analyst II with:
1. The Development, monitoring and review of current OMH business Processes for the Electronic Health Record Project.
2. The review of Requirements Analysis Documents to verify user requirements have been captured adequately.
3. Performing Fit/Gap analysis of OMH functional areas to identify data components that fit within proposed systems and gaps that will need to be addressed.
4. The development and conducting of test scenarios and test scripts to verify that system is working as expected.
5. Providing end user support and training for clinical and business systems.
6. Communicating and coordinating with team members regarding system design, troubleshooting and system defects.
7. The development of project deliverables as needed.
b. Data Collection - Data collection will require students to review case files and prepare case summaries for operations and statistical purposes.
c. Performance Measure Enhancement- Students may be required to assist with the development of performance measure enhancements. This will involve learning about desired outcomes and matching outcomes against the availability of data.
d. Assist with Medical Informatics Help Desk Management.
i. Serve as a team member in the medical informatics help desk rotation, assisting users with the OMH tier 1 applications of MHARS, VISTA, and CERNER.
ii. Engage with users to ensure the provision of timely support and on the spot training.
iii. Utilize the ITSM system to collect and organize data on help request management to inform business decisions and monitor outcomes.
