Proposal Information

Description:

The Office of Electric, Gas & Water consists of sections that perform technical work related to electric rates and tariffs; electric distribution systems; bulk electric systems; electric, gas and water policy coordination; gas rates and tariffs; gas policy and supply; water company regulation; and electric, gas and steam safety. The intern would primarily work in the Pipeline Safety Section processing citations of probable violations of 16NYCRR Part 753, Protection of Underground Facilities, through an administrative enforcement action process. The intern would be required to aide in investigating of requests for enforcement, process citations issued into Part 753 Enforcement Database, prepare Notices of Probable Violations, and to prepare Part 753 Enforcement Decision Meeting Reports. The intern would need to critically analyze the information and evidence available to provide a recommendation for the adjudication of a citation. The intern would work under the direct supervision of a senior investigator. Additionally, the intern may be required to participate in an Informal Conference with a Respondent.
