Proposal Information


Interns will learn theory and practices specific to the areas of Aggression Replacement Therapy (ART), Thinking for a Change & Motivational Interviewing, and Transitional Reentry Services & Parole. They will also become familiarized with the Therapeutic Community Model and how it is applied in the correctional setting. Interns will observe and participate in therapeutic groups under the direct supervision of counseling staff. They will assist staff in completing initial assessments, risk assessments and participate in the development of treatment plans for inmate clients. They will also become familiarized with the Criminal Justice System, from courts, to incarceration and release to the community. They will also develop clinical skills and professionalism while maintaining ethical standards in the field. Hours will be Monday through Friday, between 7:30 am and 3:30 pm, 20 to 30 hours per week.
