Description:
The selected candidate would be using ArcGIS to georeference raster data using existing spatial data (orthoimagery). The project goal is to create georeferenced Mine Plan Maps and Reclamation plan maps by importing/scanning the existing plans to create raster data and georeferencing the raster data using identifiable surface features on orthoimagery. Georeferenced mining and reclamation plan maps will aid staff during the review of an application and compliance checks. This is an office-based position with occasional field visits which will be conducted with an MLR Specialist. The purpose of the site visit is to familiarize the candidate with the specific operations of the mine site being used in the project. The candidate will become familiar with the Region's mine land reclamation files and permitting process.
