Proposal Information

Description:

Region 1 Division of Environmental Permits (DEP) is looking for a focused, motivated, independent student interested in the fields of environmental policy and regulation, and natural resources management. The intern will assist staff with data management and organization, particularly in GIS and the DEP permit tracking system. The intern will also have the opportunity to be introduced to basic permit application review and conduct field investigations. Other intern duties include the organization of archived files and reference materials.

The ideal candidate would have proficient experience with GIS, including the creation of shapefiles and map documents. It is expected that the intern will work two days a week from the hours of 8:30 to 4:45, however the time worked can be modified to suit the needs of an intern seeking class credit.
