The Business Engagement office is comprised of Business Services, Rapid Response, and the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) units. These are business professional units, and require individuals to be actively involved, eager to participate and learn. As the office works on short term and long term projects, the environment is best suited for individuals that can easily adapt to the needs of the day.

Qualified candidates should have a strong sense of initiative and desire to learn how Business Engagement's role directly impacts the workforce across New York State. The right candidate will have strong writing skills, ability to engage and reflect independently and apply critical thinking. In addition, candidates should understand how to analyze data and information and disseminate to management or customers. Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is also helpful.

Candidates will need to be flexible and willing to work with the three units of Business Engagement. Interns would assist with administrative support duties along with supporting daily operations. Interns would participate in recruitment efforts, conducting outreach to businesses or job seekers, resume review and development, along with learning the core functions of our division and the impact on the local and statewide workforce. Please note that some travel is required, and hours may fall outside of the normal office hours of 9AM to 5PM.
