Proposal Information

Description:

This placement is in the Bureau of Research and Evaluation in the Division of Research and Statistics in the Department of Labor. The bureau is responsible for reporting on the unemployment insurance program and the various workforce development programs administered by NYS. The office also provides assistance to the New York State Data Center in preparation for the 2020 census.

The intern will provide address verification for the 2020 Census. They will interrogate various data sources to verify residential address. The intern will learn how to process and manipulate large volumes of data, including best practices for security, and will also learn statistical methods of record matching.
