BASIC FUNCTION:
The primary responsibility of the Intern will be to support operations of the Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council (STREDC) and the Southern Tier Regional Office in its charge to improve the overall economic climate in the 8-county Southern Tier region, especially related to any business interaction with New York State. The intern will work under the direction of the Southern Tier Regional Director.

WORK PERFORMED:
Provide a wide range of duties to support day-to-day operations for the Regional Director and regional office staff, including, but not limited to:
* Respond to inquiries relating to the Southern Tier Regional Council and Southern Tier Office, and to unsolicited inquiries from small businesses, start-up companies and others for program information and referral.
* Create, organize and maintain records, correspondence and other related materials for Regional Director and Southern Tier office staff.
* Assist with the development of a regional office contact database and maintenance process.
* Support on-time, accurate reporting of Southern Tier office and Regional Council projects and activities as needed.
* Provide staff support for Governor's events, Regional Council activities, and other meetings and events as needed.
* Support the Southern Tier team in their representation of the agency at meetings.
* Perform special projects as required.
