Description:
The Hale Creek Field Station in Gloversville, NY is managed by the Bureau of Ecosystem Health, Division of Fish and Wildlife, and is the facility for DEC's Analytical Service Unit and the Ecotoxicology Research Team. The Field Station was formerly a fish hatchery which was repurposed as an analytical and research laboratory. The raceways as well as the fish ponds now hold fish for display and educational purposes.
The interns will participate in laboratory and field research projects conducted by the Bureau of Ecosystem Health and assist in processing of samples from field collection and the maintenance of field equipment. In addition, the interns may serve as caretakers of the fish and other aquatic animals at the Field Station.
