Proposal Information

Description:

Primary duties include electronic entry of historical fish contaminants data (PCBs, mercury, and organochlorine pesticides) so that it may be integrated into the Statewide Fish Contaminants Database. These data are used to assess trends in contaminants and inform both policy and health advisory decisions. Therefore, the intern must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions with a strict attention to detail. The intern will make determinations about data quality and reliability, determine which data need to be added to the database, and ensure consistency and integrity of the data. Other activities include assisting with various tasks associated with the fish contaminant monitoring program, including fish collection and sample preparation.
