Proposal Information
Description:
The intern will apply their knowledge of American history to improve the visitor experience at Bennington Battlefield. The internship will be divided into two phases: training & independent interactions. For the first four days, the intern will be expected to familiarize themselves with the tour manual and other selected readings. They will then observe other docents. Finally, they will be evaluated on their knowledge and skills. Pending a satisfactory evaluation, they will interact with patrons independently. Duties will include, but are not limited to, setting up and breaking down an information table, maintaining a record of patron interactions, orienting visitors to the site and leading tours upon request. Other minor duties may be assigned including tidying the information building, stocking the brochure rack, etc.
